Qing-Yu Wu, professor of cardiovascular surgery, president of First Hospital of Tsinghua University, vice dean of medical school, and deputy director of the Academic Committee of Tsinghua University. He graduated from Peking Union Medical College with Master’s degree. Now he is the only councilor of Asian Society of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery (ASCVTS) in Mainland China, member of American Association for Thoracic Surgery (AATS) and European Association for Cardio-Thoracic Surgery (EACTS), editorial member of Annals of Thoracic Surgery (USA) and a variety of professional publications. He mainly engaged in congenital heart disease, coronary artery disease, valvular disease, great arteries disease, ventricular assist device and other aspects of basic research and clinical work. He has published 251 papers and 3 books as the chief editor. He got 5 times of National Science and Technology Progress Award in 1999, 2002, 2003, 2005 and 2008, and other 9 technology awards issued by Chinese Medical Association, the Ministry of Health and Beijing.
