Roger Evans: Department of Physiology, Monash University

Roger’s PhD is in pharmacology (Monash University, 1988). After post doctoral positions at the Baker Institute (Melbourne) and the University of Melbourne, he moved to the Department of Physiology at Monash University to take up an RD Wright Fellowship (1997-2000; National health and medical Research Council of Australia [NHMRC]) and then an NHMRC Senior Research Fellowship (2001-2010). In 2011 he moved to an academic position (Associate Professor). Roger’s main research interest is renal physiology. He teaches integrative cardiovascular physiology to students studying medicine and science, and research skills to post-graduate students. Roger is Co-Editor-in-Chief of Clinical and Experimental Pharmacology and Physiology and has authored more than 160 publications. His basic research focuses on the renal circulation, particularly the regulation of regional kidney blood flow and oxygenation, within the context of the pathogenesis of hypertension and kidney disease.
